Triathlon Business International (TBI), the industry organization dedicated to promoting the sport and the business of triathlon, has announced that it is conducting its third Business Confidence Survey looking at multisport industry sentiment in 2017. Preliminary results of the survey, conducted by MultiSport Research, will be presented by Managing Director and researcher Gary Roethenbaugh at the 2017 Annual TBI Conference in Dallas, Texas, which runs from 22-24 January.
The idea for the confidence survey was initially conceived by former TBI President Jack Caress, CEO of Pacific Sports, and was developed by Multisport Research for TBI. It was implemented for the first time in January 2015 and provided a baseline for the data gathered in January 2016 and now in 2017. Areas explored by the survey include: customer demand; staffing; annual profits; the sport of triathlon (participation); business conditions; competition; household finances; prices; US economic conditions; and the potential impact of the 2016 US presidential election.
Business confidence trends will be analyzed to spotlight the areas that show positive and negative attitudes. Participants in the survey represent a cross-section of the sport, including retailers, manufacturers, event producers, service providers and triathletes.
“We believe that the multisport industry is at a crossroads in many respects, and that our members are looking for information and data that will help them move forward with continued success,” stated Richard Adler, President of Triathlon Business International (TBI). “This survey will give us a snapshot of attitudes and opinions on 2016 and 2017 and, hopefully, will help businesses form a strategy of how to approach the future.”
Survey participants will respond to 13 online questions that will take about 5-10 minutes to complete. The link for the survey is now live at bit.ly/TBI2017. All survey participants will receive a summary of the aggregated data as a thank you for completing the questions, and TBI members will receive a complimentary copy of a full confidence analysis report as a membership benefit.
